Fort Wayne Home & Garden Show Says "Fall In Love With Your Home Again"

By admin on February 27, 2011

Fort Wayne is playing host to their 38th annual Home and Garden Show in the Allen County Memorial Coliseum next weekend.

The show takes place from Thursday, March 3 through Sunday March 6, and features over 650 home and garden exhibits and vendors, making it the largest consumer event in the tri-state area. Hours are 11 am to 9 pm Thursday and Friday; 10 am to 9 pm on Saturday, and 11 am to 5 pm on Sunday.

This year’s theme “Fall in Love with Your Home Again,” showing visitors how to reinvent their homes, whether it’s making small repairs to large improvements, fixing problem areas outside to major landscaping projects.

While the show will have several experts on hand, the Fort Wayne Home & Garden Show are especially excited to feature an appearance by Michael Weishan, host of PBS’ “The Victory Garden” and former gardening editor of both Country Living and New Old House magazines. He will speak at 4 and 7 pm on Thursday, and at 1, 4 and 7 pm on Friday.

For the not-quite-advanced home repair guys, The Duct Tape Guys, the comedy duo who sing the praises of the “ultimate power tool,” will be performing their “Taping Spaces” show at 3 and 7 pm Thursday and Friday, and 12 noon, 3 and 7 pm on Saturday.

Tickets are available from online Ticketmaster for $8, or $10 at the door for adults, or $8 with a coupon from the Fort Wayne Home & Garden Show website or pre-show advertising. (Do this, because you can avoid Ticketmaster’s “convenience fees.”)

And, if you bring in a canned good — Thursday or Friday only — you’ll receive an additional $1 off admission, in addition to the $2 off coupon. All food donations benefit Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana.

Seniors age 62+ are $6 every day with no other discounts offered. Children 15 and under are free. Parking is $4 in Coliseum-owned lots.
