  • Luxury, romance and a great deal await you at Songbird Prairie B&B

Luxury, romance and a great deal await you at Songbird Prairie B&B

By Visit Indiana on January 30, 2011
Back

When my husband and I took our honeymoon over 17 years ago, we chose to stay at a small bed-and-breakfast that was within easy driving distance of several interesting and entertaining destinations. The same can be said for the Songbird Prairie Bed-and-Breakfast in Valparaiso, Indiana.

Located in the state’s northwest region, Songbird Prairie is less than one hour from downtown Chicago, one hour from the University of Notre Dame and just two and a half hours from Indianapolis. For those seeking rest and relaxation, Songbird Prairie can be a destination all its own.

The B&B has won multiple awards including “Top 10 Romantic Inns” from the American Historic Inns, Inc. “One of the Top 25 Best Undiscovered Terribly Romantic Inns” by BedandBreakfast.com, and “Best of the Midwest” by Midwest Living magazine. Guests can choose from five different suites, each with its own private bathroom and each named for a different songbird.

The romance

So what’s the recipe for romance?

How about starting the day with a three-course breakfast served in the sunroom? Add in-suite fireplaces and jacuzzi bathtubs. Wrap in European bed and bath linens and fluffy robes and slippers. Finish off with complimentary evening desserts and beverages and you may never want to return home. Customize your experience by choosing added amenities such as fireside couples massages, champagne, cheese and cracker trays, and chocolate dipped strawberries.

If you want to venture out, but not go as far as Chicago or South Bend, you can explore Taltree Arboretum & Gardens and the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, do a little wine tasting at Anderson’s Vineyard and Winery, or enjoy live musicals and touring musicians at the 115-year-old Memorial Opera House.

The deal

From now through 11:59pm on Monday, January 31, you can purchase a two-night stay at Songbird Prairie Bed & Breakfast for just $169 from Eversave.com. That’s a savings of 50%!  Choose from the Warbler Suite or the Purplefinch Suite, each with a queen-size Ethan Allen bed, or apply your purchase to upgrade to another, larger suite.  You may purchase one certificate for yourself and one to give as a gift — what a wonderful wedding or anniversary gift that would be to give someone!  Certificates must be used by May 15, 2011 and is not valid on holidays. Reservations are required.

If you don’t get in on the Eversave.com deal, visit the Songbird Prairie website to see a list of specials and packages currently available.
