A college kid has a hard time finding a good meal that doesn’t consist of pizza, pasta, or frozen dinners. It’s not surprising how excited our class was when we found out we were all getting a chance to experience Devour Downtown first hand. Dateless, I decided Weber Grill would be the perfect place for a roommate dinner and some quality girl time.
I see Weber Grill every day driving home from work but had never tried it out. To my surprise, it was much classier than I had expected. With dim lights, a fireplace, and soft music, it’s the perfect date location for young pro’s. We knew it was also a family friendly place when the manager visited the table beside us and starting chatting with a little boy.
This seemed to be the way of all the staff. Our waiter was absolutely wonderful and very knowledgeable about the menu. When you can talk for three minutes about a cocktail with four ingredients, I’m impressed! With only seven weeks of work under his belt, he had definitely done his homework. The Devour Downtown special was one of the first things he mentioned; of course that’s what we were getting.
We had three choices for our appetizer, main course, and dessert. While we looked over the menu, warm pretzel rolls sat in front of us to nibble on. Our Caesar salad was equally delicious followed by filet mignon and garlic mashed potatoes. At medium-well, it was possibly the juiciest, most perfectly cooked steak either of us had ever had. The portions weren’t huge but just the right size. The dessert menu included two choices, naturally we got both. Warm chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream was the perfect way to complete our dinner and fill our stomachs.
Weber Grill was a very inviting restaurant, fancy but not so fancy you feel the need to dress a certain way or make sure you eat with the correct fork. With a convenient location to the Circle Centre Mall parking, you can pay $1.50 and take up to three hours to finish your dinner. Valet is also an option for $10. If you feel like having a few drinks after dinner feel free to stay or migrate through the lobby to Smokey Joe’s Bar.
Although this was only one of more than 40 options for Devour Downtown, it’s definitely a good one.
