I went to the Flying Cupcake today for the first time. I have been hearing about this place for years now, but being busy with school, work, and extracurricular activities, going to a shop that only sells cupcakes wasn’t high on my list. This weekend after I got back from Fort Wayne some of my friends were taking a study break and asked me to go with them to get a cupcake. I had nothing better to do so I said “okay.”
This was hands down the greatest decision I have ever made. I walked into this little shop with its small tables and yellow chairs and cupcake’s on display and I was hooked. I ordered the Caramel Apple Spice Cupcake, the Caramel Apple Spice cider is my favorite drink at Starbucks, and the Flying Cupcake version of it is equally as good. The cupcake is this spice cake with apples in the middle with some kind of caramel icing or drizzle on top and it is perfect. It comes with this little edible candy leaf thing on it which was perfect too.
The Caramel Apple Spice cupcake is only available until the end of December so I am going back to get as many as I can before they go away. I don’t know why I waited so long to go to this little Indianapolis bakery, but I wish I hadn’t waited so long. I should have been getting a cupcake a week from here from day one of my freshman year. I can’t wait to go back and get the red velvet cupcake, which is one of their signature recipes. The Flying Cupcake is the perfect place to go for a delicious treat and to blow of some steam after a long day, because what day doesn’t get better when a delicious cupcake is in your mouth.
