Every summer during my childhood, my grandparents packed all the grandchildren up in their RV for a week to go down to Mounds State Recreation Area, located on Brookville Lake. We would take the boat and spend the week riding tubes, water skiing, fishing and hiking through the woods. My grandpa would set up the tent for the boys and the girls would all sleep on the floor of the RV. Grandma would make potato salad and we would all cook hotdogs and símores over the campfire. We would stay up late, tell stories around the fire and stargaze. Those summer vacations were the source of some of my favorite childhood memories.
