It’s basketball season again in Indiana and a favorite past time of Hoosiers all over the state is going to a basketball game on a wintry Saturday afternoon.
The Hoosier state is the home of the game of basketball and we know how to put on a great afternoon of basketball. From Big Ten schools to hometown heroes, scoreboards are lighting up all over the state.
It’s not just about the game, it is the experience and that experience is electrifying. The band playing the school song, the team warming up, and the crowd on their feet in a historic Indiana gym- there is nothing like it.
It’s a no-brainer that Butler is my top pick to watch a good game of basketball at Hinkle Fieldhouse, but Butler isn’t the only university to offer a great afternoon of college hoops. I also like to travel to Bloomington to Assembly Hall to watch IU in a gym that has had its share in college hoops history. Or head to West Lafayette and Mackey Arena to watch the Boilermakers play some of the biggest names in college hoops.
So the next time you find yourself with nothing to do on a dreary winter weekend, warm up your afternoon with the Hoosier state’s favorite past time.
