Christmastime in downtown Indianapolis has always been one of my favorite times of year. From the Lighting of the Tree (the Soldiers & Sailors monument on Monument Circle downtown) to the giant soldiers and candy canes that decorate the circle; a carriage ride around the adorned circle, to the numerous shows and shopping adventures; the holiday atmosphere is unlike anything else.
The highlight of the season for my family has always been the Yuletide Celebration from the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. Sponsored by Duke Energy, the show boasts traditional carols and songs, tap dancing Santas, magic acts, and the music of the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra.
For the 25th anniversary, musical director Jack Everly and host Sandi Patty bring to the stage all the musical cheer and celebration that comes with the holidays. From the minute you enter the theater, the irresistible holiday joy puts a smile on the face of even the most Grinch-like people. This year’s special guest magicians are Les Arnold and Dazzle, providing the audience with side-splitting laughs and awe-inspiring magic tricks.
This year’s Yuletide Celebration is one of the best ways to celebrate the season with a barrel of laughs and heartwarming music. The show even features songs from White Christmas. The show runs from December 3rd to December 23rd with afternoon and evening performances.
