Indiana’s rural landscape inspires Mishawaka artist Laurie Balla. She grew up in the country surrounded by “cornstalks, woods and wildflowers.” Using watercolor on canvas because of the “infinite possibilities” it provides, she masterfully captures the rich beauty found in nature. Her paintings bring strawberries, fallen leaves, lily pads, hibiscus flowers and other simple pleasures to life on paper.
Fortunately for fans and first-time art buyers alike, Van Gogh also serves as inspiration. The famous 19th century artist often sold paintings at an affordable price so that everyone could have and enjoy art. Balla also believes that art should be accessible. Her creative works are attainable for all budgets.
You’ll find Laurie Balla’s watercolors at several boutiques and galleries listed here as well as online. More information about the artist is also available on the Indiana Artisan website.
