Pizza is pizza is pizza. If you’ve tried one slice, you’ve tried them all. All pizza is the same; it’s just crust, sauce, and cheese.
All of these thoughts will quickly be thrown out the window when you try your first slice of pizza at Tipton, Indiana’s infamous Pizza Shack. With a small town atmosphere combined with quality pizza at an affordable price, Pizza Shack has made quite the name for itself. Pizza Shack has been a restaurant establishment since 1974 and continues to gather support from Tipton and surrounding areas.
Located in downtown Tipton, Indiana (about half-way between Noblesville and Kokomo), Pizza Shack gives their visitors a look back into history with its train station-inspired décor. The restaurant itself is located directly beside a set of old train tracks that used to run through the town of Tipton on a daily basis. There is an old-time train station feel to the entire restaurant, inside and out.
Enough about the interior and exterior design, let’s talk about the main attraction, the food! The main selling point of Pizza Shack is their delectable all-you-can-eat buffet. This buffet runs seven days a week. On Sunday the buffet is open from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. and on Monday-Saturday there is a lunch and a dinner buffet. The lunch buffet is open from 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. and the dinner buffet is from 4:00-9:00 p.m. The buffet includes drinks and a bowl of spaghetti. All buffets are under $9 and children eat for even less.
The buffet features a stocked salad bar and a stocked pizza selection. Some examples of the pizzas offered are cheese, pepperoni, sausage, chicken alfredo, and a taco pizza. My personal favorite is the taco pizza; it is truly a fiesta in your mouth. I would also suggest Pizza Shack’s famous cinnamon-sugar breadsticks. These also come free with the all-you-can-eat buffet. As if you wouldn’t be full enough already, you can also get a bowl of spaghetti with your buffet. Pizza Shack is adamant on making sure their customers don’t go home hungry.
Pizza Shack has been a favorite in my family for as long as I can remember. I would strongly suggest stopping in the next time you’re driving through Tipton County. Come board the all-you-can-eat buffet at Pizza Shack by the Tracks!
