Homestyle eats on the menu at Navy Bean Fall Festival

Earlier this week, we took the family out to Bob Evans for dinner. I was thrilled to see navy bean soup on the menu. It’s one of those foods that I love, but that I never make because no one else in my family cares for it. Imagine, how excited I was to find out that Rising Sun, Indiana will host its 23rd annual Navy Bean Fall Festival on October 8 and 9!

Organizers estimate they will serve up 2,000 steaming hot bowls of navy bean soup and 1,000 homemade corn muffins — a necessary side to the soup — over the course of the two-day celebration, which is held in Riverfront Park. In addition to the delicious eats, the festival serves up free admission and parking, free face painting and kids’ entertainment, as well as live concerts on an outdoor stage.

The schedule for the festival is as follows:

Friday, October 8:

5:00-9:00 p.m. — Navy Bean Soup served Navy Bean Soup Tent
