Remember the days when you would rock out to The Beatles, Bruce Springsteen, The Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin? The “Rock Stars, Cars and Guitars” special exhibit at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis will give your kids a taste of what classic rock was like in your heyday. From June 12-Sept. 12, this display will celebrate the culture and music of the ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.
Head to the grand opening 10am-3pm on June 12 to hear performances by Frontiers, a well-known Journey tribute band, at 11am and 1pm. Explore fun musical activities there every day, like helping your child design their own album cover, sing in a recording studio or play their heart out on a concert stage.
Throughout its duration, the exhibit will also feature several special events that include an opportunity to make pet rocks, a group Thriller dance, music for preschoolers, a Radio Disney concert and the science of sound. Make the trip easy on your wallet by taking advantage of Target Free Family Night on July 1, 4-8pm, when all visitors to the exhibit receive free museum admission. See the full calendar of events here.
Who knows? Maybe your son or daughter will turn out to be a rock star.
