With summer in full swing there’s lots to see and do in Shipshewana, Indiana – by far one of my favorite destinations. Here’s my rundown of some events that are happening in Late May and June 2010.
Extended Flea Market – From Memorial Day until June 3rd the market will be running for an extended 4 day opening. So, if you want some deals, fine Amish food and something fun to do – head for the special extended flea market starting today.
Antique Market – June 5 – Next Saturday is one of the biggest Antique markets in Northern Indiana, for one day only. Come find the perfect antique for your home or gift for someone else. There’s something for everyone at the Shipshewana Antique Market. It starts at 8am so get there early!
Shipshewana Yard Sale – June 11th – Join the residents of Shipshewana and the surround cities as they gather for a huge yard sale. Quite a different experience from the flea market, which is more business oriented. The Yard Sale is much more personal as people try to hawk their wares from family heirlooms to junk from the garage. Starts at 8am – and as with all events in Shipshewana – get there early for the best deals!
Shipshewana Quilt Festival – June 23rd – 26th – If you’re into quilting – then this is the time to come to Shipshewana as people from all over the world gather to discuss the art of quilt making. From vendors, speakers, quilts and so much more – this is the quilting event you’ve been waiting for.
