Summer is the perfect time of year to go camping and Indiana is home to countless state and national parks that provide great campgrounds and settings for wildlife adventures.

Here’s a list of 5 great campgrounds in Indiana

Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore

Located in the heart of the Indiana Dunes is a beautiful campground that harkens back to the pioneer days on Indiana.

Potato Creek State Park

Located in north central Indiana about 12 miles southwest of South Bend. The park features a wide array of activities and facilities for year-round enjoyment.

Chain O’ Lakes

This is lake country and a small boater’s paradise. Eight connecting lakes will be the center of your adventures at Chain O’Lakes State Park in Noble County.

Mounds State Park

Mounds State Park, located off I-69 east of Anderson, features 10 unique “earthworks” built by a group of prehistoric Indians known as the Adena-Hopewell people.

Lincoln State Park

Visit Lincoln State Park and discover Indiana’s past throughout 10 miles of hiking trails, rolling forested hills and two scenic lakes.
