The second Hoosier Sport Stacking Championships will be held in Connersville, Indiana on Saturday, February 27 from 8:30am to 4:00pm at the Fayette County Fairgrounds.
Sport Stacking (also known as cup stacking or speed stacking) is an individual and team sport that involves stacking specialized plastic cups in specific sequences in as little time as possible. Competitors as young as four years old and as old as 60+ will compete in individual, doubles and 4-person team relay events. My friend Karen and her family did pretty well at last year’s championships:
To see how this sport works, click here for a video that shows individual, doubles and team relay stacking. Over 200 stackers are expected to participate in the Hoosier Sport Stacking Championships.
Admission to the championships is $5 for adults, $2 for kids ages 5-17 and free for children under 5.
This is an activity the whole family can get into. Once you see this sport in person, you’ll be ready to try your hand at stacking too. Speed Stacks merchandise will be available for purchase on site.
The Fayette County Fairgrounds is located at 2690 North Park Road, Connersville, Indiana, south of I-70 on State Road 1. Concessions will be available on-site or try one of Connersville’s local restaurants.
