On Sunday, February 28, the Indiana Ice will take on Team USA in a 3:05pm start at Conseco Fieldhouse.
Team USA is the United States National Developmental Team, a stepping stone for future Olympians. On this year’s United States Olympic Team in Vancouver, forward Phil Kessel, forward Ryan Kesler, forward Patrick Kane, defenseman Ryan Whitney, defenseman Ryan Suter, defenseman Jack Johnson and defenseman Erik Johnson all played for the U.S. National Developmental Team at some point in their careers.
The game will also be a special “Pack the House Night for Charity.” Players will be wearing special jerseys designed by patients at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital (PMCH). The jerseys will be auctioned off to raise money for PMCH, Make-A-Wish, the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation and The Villages of Indiana.
If a trip to Indianapolis is not in the cards for you this weekend, consider heading to Fort Wayne to catch the Fort Wayne Komets hockey team take on the Flint Generals at Memorial Coliseum on Saturday, February 27 at 7:30pm.
