Are the kids bugging you about Spring Break yet? Would you like to do something fun but don’t have a tropical vacation budget to work with? How about a little highway robbery?
Ok — not highway robbery, but railway robbery! The French Lick Scenic Railway will offer exciting Train Robbery trips beginning in April. On special weekends, a gang of outlaws invade the hills of Southern Indiana with the intent to rob the train. Of course local law enforcement will try to protect the train and its passengers, getting everyone to the village of Cuzco safely. It’s like playing a part in an old TV western.
Robberies will take place at 10:00am, 1:00pm and 4:00pm on each of the following dates: April 24-25, May 29-31, June 12-13, July 3-5, September 4-6, October 16-17. If only “regular” bandits were so courteous as to publish the dates and times of their intended heists!
What’s not robbery is the price. Adults can get in on the action for $14. Children ages 3-11 are $7. Kids ages 2 and under are free. For more information, click here.
For those families who are interested in the 20-mile round trip ride without the drama of bandits and town marshals, you can catch a more serene trip at any of the times listed above on weekends April-October. Be sure to stop in at the Indiana Railway Museum and gift shop, too.
