Here’s a snowy picture of the Indiana Statehouse from our office in Downtown Indianapolis. The snow just keeps coming down and it’s beautiful outside. All this snow makes me want to take the day off and enjoy some of Indiana’s great winter activities.
Did you know that Indiana has two great ski slopes? In hilly southern Indiana you’ll find both Paoli Peaks (in central southern Indiana, near French Lick) and Perfect North Slopes (in southeastern Indiana, near Cincinnati, OH).
Paoli Peaks features 17 trails, from beginner to diamond as well as three terrain parks and tubing. Even if you can’t make it down to Paoli while today’s snow is still aroud, have no fear, Paoli makes their own snow from mid-December through early March (weather permitting).
I actually remember skiing at Perfect North while growing up in Cincinnati. It’s a great place and they’re celebrating their 30th anniversary this year. With 24 different trails to try, you’ll be sure to find the one that’s right for you, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced skier. If you have an iPhone or iPod Touch, Perfect North has an app for you. Check out snow reports, view their four live webcams and get directions to the slopes. If you’re on Twitter you can follow Perfect North at @SkiRideTubePNS.
Lift passes for both slopes are around $40 per person and you can rent skis or snowboards at each location for about $25.
