Bedford, known as Limestone Country, offers a rich history of quarrying and carving Indiana, also known as Bedford, Limestone. There are many famous national structures made of this stone, including the Lincoln Memorial, the Empire State Building, the Pentagon and the new Yankee Stadium. If you like history museums, Bedford has two devoted to the industy: Lawrence County Museum of History and the Land of Limestone Museum.
