One question I get asked about quite a lot by people I know is: Where do you find those nostalgic posters of the South Shore Railroad Line? You’ve seen them all over the place – they usually have romantic image of the South Shore Line advertising an attraction in Northwest Indiana.
Many of them are beautiful works of art in their own right and they are a treasure to own. The problem is that it can be quite difficult to find them in stores as most chain retail stores don’t stock them.
Fear not, there are actually two places in Northwest Indiana that you can pick up these lovely posters.
The first is the Indiana Welcome Center in Hammond, Indiana which has a small shop selling goods related to the Indiana Dunes.
The second place you can find these wonderful posters is the Dorothy Buell Memorial Visitor Center located Porter, Indiana right off the major highways. They not only have the posters, but they also have a great selection of books and souvenirs related to the Indiana Dunes.
Both welcome centers are also great places to start when exploring the Northwest Indiana region. The helpful and trained guides will be glad to help you find fun things to do and direct you to great shopping and entertainment in the area.
