There are so many great things about fall in Indiana. From the gorgeous trees to the perfectly cool weather, it’s a great time to plan outdoor activities for the family. Parks all around the state are offering terrific programs that will allow you to enjoy both your loved ones and the season. Here is just a sampling of what you’ll find this weekend:
Wesselman Woods, Evansville, IN Harvest Festival and Hayrides Friday & Saturday, October 23 & 24, 5-9pm
Bring your family for seasonal activities such as leaf rubbing, live animal encounters, Halloween-themed crafts, night hikes, and much more. Gather everyone around the campfire and listen to live acoustic music. Admission is $7 per person or $25 per family (max 5 people). Children 3 and under are free!
Holliday Park, Indianapolis, IN Fall Festival
Sunday, October 25, Noon-5pm
Enjoy nature hikes, fall crafts, s’mores around the campfire, and presentations on native animals and plants. This event is free, but snacks will be available for purchase. Click the Fall Festival link above for a detailed schedule.
Wolf Park, Battle Ground, IN Pumpkins for Wolves and Howl Night Program
Saturday, October 24, 2:00pm and 7:30pm
Head to the Lafayette area for these two great events at Wolf Park. Arrive around 2pm in time for the “Pumpkins for Wolves” Halloween event. The park’s wolf pack will enjoy a treat of pumpkins. Visitors are highly encouraged and can see the wolves at close range. Head back to Wolf Park at 7:30pm to enjoy the weekly Howl Night program. Make sure your voice is tuned — you’ll have a chance to howl at the wolves and wait for them to howl back at you! Admission to Wolf Park is $7/person, but children ages 6-13 are $5.
