Tired of the same old Friday night pizza and a movie? Head to Columbus, Indiana for a unique — and free — community event, the 4th Annual Iron Pour and Sculpture Exhibit. Twelve to 14 artists will be on hand to create sculptures by melting iron and pouring it into molds they created.
In addition to the artists’ molds, iron will also be poured into “scratch blocks” or small molds purchased and designed by members of the community. Visitors can also view and purchase works created by the artists.
According to the Columbus Arts Council, the event showcases the city’s historical connection to arts and industry. Americana folk artists, including Tom Roznowski, will be on hand to provide musical entertainment. Local restaurants will be selling food and drinks, as well.
The pour gets underway at 4:00pm in Mill Race Park and will wrap up around 10:00pm.
