Have a howling good time in Battle Ground...

By admin on January 23, 2009

Wolf Park, Lafayette

You may know about Battle Ground’s National Historic Landmark, Tippecanoe Battleground, but did you know it is also home to a small research facility called Wolf Park. The park allows visitors an up-close and personal interaction with wolves, coyotes and buffalo. Sure to be in the area on Friday and/or Saturday for their Howl Night program. Let loose and join the wolves in a good howl.

If you’ve not visited Tippecanoe Battleground, you should go for the history and the hiking. The Battleground is the start of the thirteen-mile Wabash Heritage Trail. It runs south along the Wabash River through Lafayette to Fort Ouiatenon Park. The park was once the site of a mid-1700 French trading post. In September, the famed the Feast of the Hunters’ Moon festival is held here.
