Fun on the Farm!

Milking Cows

Did you know there is a place in Indiana that is home to 30,000 dairy cows? And every day each cow produces almost 10 gallons of milk! The farm is called Fair Oaks Farms and it is located in the northwest corner of Indiana off of Interstate 65.

Fair Oaks has been designed to explain how the dairy industry protects the environment, cares for the cows and ensures the highest quality milk possible. All of this is done in a family friendly atmosphere that is sure to entertain and educate your kids. And, if you go on the tour you have access to the birthing barn where you and your family can witness the birth of a baby calf … and with over 80 calves born every day it doesn’t matter when you are there, you’re sure to experience this miracle. Tours of the facility are $10/adults and $7/kids (3-12).

While you are there, be sure and grab a bit to eat at their café. Their menu offers everything gourmet grilled cheese, soups, salads and of course ice cream!
