One of Elkhart County‘s newest ventures is the Quilt Gardens Tour, a collection of 12 gardens featuring 60,000 flowers and nearly a dozen super-sized murals (as seen above). Work your way through Northern Indiana’s Amish Country along the Heritage Trail and stop and smell the Quilt Gardens along the way.
Last summer also brought the opening of the American Countryside Farmers Market in Elkhart, just south of US 20 at the intersection of SR 19 and CR 26. When you make it to the Farmers Market be sure to get a cinnamon-covered donut at the Clearspring Acres booth, a dutch apple pie at the Essenhaus and some bulk spices at the market. They also have some beautiful flowers and patio furniture outside.
The market is open Thursday through Saturday and on Saturday mornings in the summer, vendors pack the front parking lot and fresh produce is everywhere!
