Noodles, fried chicken, mashed potatoes, homemade pie. Who can ask for more? At the Essenhaus restaurant in Middlebury you will never find a shortage of these favorites! Choose from family-style dining or order off the menu. Either way, you will not leave hungry after this Amish and Mennonite home-style cooking.
Before you head out, be sure to visit the onsite bakery. With 29 varieties of pie you’ll find it hard to decide which one is perfect (my recommendation is the red raspberry cream).
And if that wasn’t enough … experience the log cabin quilt garden. While this is its second year on the grounds, it is now part of a larger Quilt Gardens Tour across Elkhart County.
Tired? Head over to the Essenhaus Inn and stay in one of their 89 guest rooms. Trust me … it is an excellent overnight with a fantastic continental breakfast!
